The Yellowsomes golf format is made for teams of golfers. This format is typically played in a 2 vs 2 format. The game works likes this.
Each member of your team drives their ball, the other team is then able to choose which of those two drives you must play. From this point, you play alternate shot golf.
This means you rotate which team member takes each shot. If one golfer hits the approach shot the other takes the first putt. The only instance in which you take two shots in a row occurs if your drive is selected.
Whoever hit the selected drive must hit the second shot on the hole.

One way to get a leg up on your competition in yellowsomes is to pay attention to more than just the drive. You must remember that the golfer whos drive you select is going to be the one to take the second shot.
You can use this information to make a better decision on which players drive to choose.
For example, say one of the other team’s members struggles with chunking their irons. His drive is ten yards in front of his teammates but they need to clear a water hazard to reach the green. Your first thought may be to choose the shorter of the two drives. But forcing the golfer who is inconsistent with their irons to clear the water hazard is likely the better play.
Paying attention to you opponents play style and reading the hole to determine who should shoot next is just as important as judging the drive itself.
